About

Hi, I’m Andy, a long-time lover of trivia and all things general knowledge. I began hosting trivia during the COVID-19 shutdown. Saturday nights became Trivia Night with Andy nights, when I created weekly games for family and friends to play over Zoom. Once restaurants and bars started reopening, I landed my first real-life trivia at Big Boss Brewery.
Now I host Monday nights at Nancy’s Pizzeria. Most nights are general knowledge rounds, covering movies, science, history, TV, music, books, and more. Theme nights also appear on the calendar, including movie night, music night, Spooky Scary night, and Christmas-ish night. I have also hosted one-off trivia events for a middle school, a singing troupe, and UNC alumni.
When I’m not shouting questions about random facts at people, or researching and writing said questions about random facts, I like to read. Also, sleep. Sleep is important, for the brain, the body, etc. I work for the public library system, dishing out books left and right to those who can handle them. Mostly they can, or they wouldn’t be in the building.
As a kid I made Jeopardy games for my friends to play. Yes, it was as dorky as it sounds. No, actually, it was worse. Most of those questions were about outer space. I’ve learned much since then, like that people don’t enjoy outer space as much as I do. That’s OK; we must appeal to all peoples.
My other interests include sports, but especially basketball but especially college basketball; traveling to new places; petting my dog and human; and watching whatever’s playing at the local movie theater.
